When I first wanted to put my art online, the only thought I had was "I'm going to make my own website!". I did that, and enjoyed it for a while. It was a fun, new thing for me to manage. But, as it went on and submissions grew, it became a complete bitch to micro-manage every link. I came upon this site, and thought "Aha! This is much easier. Sure, I'll lose complete customization of the look, but it'll all be handled for me."
It was then that I got into the furry scene, and found Fur Affinity. "It's like DA but all furry stuff!" Perfect for my situation. Other art sites came and went in my interest, even some that were better, but FA was the central hub of the furry art community, and it was the place to be to meet and share with friends. Fast forward a few years, and the enormous amount of users and lack of funding to host the site made it become frequently unstable. I've never been a user of a site that has been down more than FA has. The general bad vibes coming from it and the recent IMVU purchase just rubbed me all sorts of wrong ways.
I've had a Weasyl account for a while, never really gave it a fair chance though. I pretty much just squatted on the account name in case I wanted to use it. With my dissatisfaction of FA, and also not wanting to manage three art galleries, I decided to cease my FA gallery and move it all to Weasyl.
So, now comes DA. I've never had a real gripe with DA, but again, I don't want to manage a ton of galleries with repetitious shit on it. So, all my furry art will be taken down soon. If you want to follow my furry work, you can find me over at www.weasyl.com/~maglot
This gallery will be filled with more non-furry stuff, and short stories that I work on from time to time. I feel it's only worth having more than one gallery if you make an effort to diversify them so that there's a REASON to visit both, rather than just hitting the same content to reach wider audiences. Thanks to everyone who has watched me and faved my stuff, I do really appreciate it, but it's just time for me to make things a little easier for me. Thanks for understanding.
